Staples – 03/07/14 and 03/09/14

A few days after my contact came and picked up the last round of paper, I got an email from her saying she was surprised I’d have more so quickly. Huh? I looked at the email and it was dated that day, but it was an email I had sent more than 3 weeks prior! Where it was all along we’ll never know, but we had a good laugh over that one. I had sent the email and then wondered why I didn’t hear from her. I wasn’t worried because I knew I’d be getting more paper within a few days. Not a big deal at all.

You can bet the email I sent to her today had a date IN the body of the message…

03/07/14:

After the little email snafu, I was determined to max out my paper buying as quickly as I could. Note: not everything is pictured. You can only take so many pics of half cases before they get really old…

Once again, I price matched to the online price of 21.24 for the half cases and 6.79 for the reams. I don’t know why, but paper is cheaper for me when I log into the website.

4 half cases copy paper: 84.96 – 20.00 q  (pending rebates: 64.00)

Minus 10.00 off 50.00 q

Plus 3.44 tax

Total OOP: 58.40

Pending rebates: 64.00

03/09/14:

1st transaction:

2 half cases copy paper: 42.48 – 19.98 q (pending rebates: 32.00)

2 reams Hammermill: 13.58 – 7.98 q  (pending rebates: 7.60)

Minus 10.00 off 50.00 q

Plus 1.13 tax

Total OOP: 19.23

Pending rebates: 39.60

2nd transaction:

2 half cases copy paper: 42.48 – 19.98 q (pending rebates: 32.00)

2 reams Hammermill: 13.58 – 7.98 q  (pending rebates: 7.60)

Minus 10.00 off 50.00 q

Plus 1.13 tax

Total OOP: 19.23

Pending rebates: 39.60

The best part? ALL the paper has already moved on. My contact picked it up and will be shuffling it out to local schools. Win win for everyone: I get to buy all the paper I want, she gets to donate it to places she chooses, they benefit from the free paper.

2014-03-07 21.34.01I’m still trying to figure out how to blog about rebates. I’m finding that the rebate world is so fast paced – I can’t figure out how to make that work! I’ll just leave you with this pic for now. Yes, that was 27 UPCs I had to cut to file 6 rebates. Fun fun fun. :)
